At Goldey-Beacom: The jack of all trades…has been offside hitter, onside hitter, setter and plays great defense…enters her junior season ranked No. 6 on the school’s career service aces list with 99 and No. 3 on the assists list (719).
2009 Season: Played in all 31 matches and 99 of 103 sets…led the team with 179 kills...second on the team in assists (213) and service aces (39)…third on the team with 238 digs…also pitched in with eight blocks, four of them solo stops…earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honorable mention (8/31)…collected two triple-doubles: vs. Dominican (9/5; 13 kills, 10 assists, 15 digs) and vs. Chestnut Hill (10/15; 12 kills, 17 assists, 14 digs)…had six double-figure kill games, including a season-high 13 in the Lightning’s near upset of Dominican…had seven double-figure assist games, including a career-high 21 in a 3-1 win over Concordia (9/26)…had 10 double-figure dig games including a career-high 21 in the season-opener against Philadelphia (8/29)…tied a career-high with six service aces against Holy Family (9/15).
2008 Season: Appeared in all 28 matches and all 91 sets…led the team with 506 assists and 60 service aces…her 60 service aces ranked fifth in all of the NCAA Division II in 2008 and ranked 4th on the school’s all-time single-season aces list…her 506 assists rank No. 5 on the school’s all-time single-season assists list…she was third on the team with 212 digs…recorded 11 blocks (two solo stops) and 25 kills…set a career-high with six service aces against Lincoln (9/3)…had a season-high five kills at USP (10/7)…had seven double-doubles in the assists and digs columns…posted career-highs of 44 assists and 18 digs at Felician (10/25).
Personal: Roni Shaner…chose to come to GBC because it was close to home and she already had a friend on the volleyball team…chose to play Division II athletics at GBC because she loves playing volleyball and had heard it was a good team…enjoys hanging out with friends and playing volleyball…describes herself as “fun.”
High School: Earned two varsity letters at St. Mark’s under head coach Nancy Griskowitz…led team to state championship in 2006…earned All-Conference her senior season…was a member of the First State Volleyball Club.
