Goldey-Beacom softball played non-conference opponent Molloy at the Jackson Athletic Complex in Wilmington, DE and came away with a 7-3 victory before falling 6-1.
Game one saw Molloy come out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single from Casey Kissinger and two runs on an error. The Lightning rallied in the bottom of the inning with Emily Smith (Delmar, DE) scoring on an error, fellow freshman Aryi Hansen (Lakewood, CA) plating two with a single up the middle and sophomore Bri Cole (Rising Sun, MD) having an RBI double. GBC continued its scoring in the fourth and fifth innings on an RBI single from Hansen and a two-run single from senior Rayna Pelcak (Laurel Springs, NJ). Junior Molly Skelly improved to 10-5 from the mound, striking out four.
Game two saw Molloy score five straight in the third inning with RBIs from Skyler Secondino and Alyssa Bueno, a run from a wild pitch and a two-run single from Stevie Dabbadie. Molloy's sixth run came in the next inning on a double from Alyssa Bueno. Goldey-Beacom saw junior McKenna Frank (Oxford, PA) reach home on a single to center field from senior Emma Friel (Coatesville, PA).Â
Goldey-Beacom plays its final regular-season home game on Tuesday, when it hosts Jefferson for a 2:00 pm doubleheader at the Jackson Athletic Complex.
