Goldey-Beacom opened Saturday's play in Melbourne, FL with a 5-4, 10-inning loss to Cedarville before a 5-1 setback to Walsh.
Goldey-Beacom in the top of the eighth against Cedarville got a sacrifice fly from junior McKenna Frank (Oxford, PA) for a 2-1 lead. But Anna Gardner scored on a dropped fly ball for Cedarville to knot the score.
The Lightning in the ninth again went ahead, receiving a bunt single from senior Emma Friel (Coatesville, PA) for a 3-2 cushion. However, Chesnie Patton scored on an error for the Yellow Jackets and we were level again.
GBC (1-5) went scoreless in the 10th before Cedarville (6-12) got its third straight win by scoring in the last of the frame. Gardner was placed on second base via tiebreaker rules and Anna Gorshak won it with a single to left field.
Junior Molly Skelly (Blackwood, NJ) struck out three over six innings and sophomore Lauren Carbonara (Newark, DE) had three strikeouts over two frames.
The Walsh contest saw Goldey-Beacom take a 1-0 lead in the last of the fourth inning. Junior DeLanie Perry (Deland, FL) lined a one-out single, senior pinch-runner Chasedy Johnson (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ) stole second and third before scoring on Friel's groundout.
However, the Cavaliers plated three in the fifth for a 3-1 lead. Leah Musall rapped an RBI single and Sydney Cottrell added a two-run single.
Lindsay Bingham stroked an RBI triple in the seventh and scored on a wild pitch for the final.
Perry went 3-for-3 with Frank and senior Rayna Pelcak (Laurel Springs, NJ) getting two hits apiece.
Goldey-Beacom returns to action Monday with a 10:00 am doubleheader against Bentley.
