Goldey-Beacom softball played its final day in Melbourne, Florida and came away with a 9-1 victory over Post in game two after falling 3-0 to D'Youville in game one.
In game one, neither team scored until the sixth inning when D'Youville put up three runs. Mikayla Hussar doubled to score Danielle Fenlong, Jorja Sandilands singled to send home Hussar and Isabella Mancino tripled to score Sandilands.
Game two saw the Lightning take a 9-1 victory over Post in five innings. Goldey-Beacom began its scoring in the first inning on a single from sophomore Bri Cole (Rising Sun, MD) that advanced junior McKenna Frank (Oxford, PA). Freshman Jillian Coulbourn (Frankford, DE) had a sacrifice fly to score fellow freshman Ayri Hansen (Lakewood, CA) before the second inning featured five runs on an RBI double from Hansen, a two RBI double from freshman Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT), a single from Rayna Pelcak (Laurel Springs, N.J.), and a single from freshman Bella Musey (Millville, NJ).
Post scored its only run of the game in the top of the third inning on an error before Hansen had an RBI triple in the bottom of the inning. GBC finished the game in the bottom of the fifth on a single from Frank to score senior Chasedy Johnson (Egg Harbor City, NJ).
Goldey-Beacom returns to Wilmington, DE and continues play on Tuesday, where it faces Lincoln (PA) in a double header at 2:00pm at the Jackson Athletic Complex.
