Goldey-Beacom continued play in Melbourne, FL for the fourth day and fell 9-5 to Bemidji State before picking up a 7-5 win against Saint Thomas Aquinas.
In game one, Bemidji State opened with a 4-0 lead off of a double from Brianna Ness, two unearned runs and a sacrifice fly from Lauren Beissel. GBC evened the score in the third and fourth innings on a sacrifice fly from Junior McKenna Frank (Oxford, PA), a single from sophomore Bri Cole (Rising Sun, Md.) and a two RBI single from freshman Ayri Hansen (Lakewood, CA). Senior Chasedy Johnson (Egg Harbor City, NJ) then scored on a passed ball to make it 5-4.
Bemidji State scored the next five runs to take the 9-5 win, consisting of an unearned run, a single from Jackie Larsen, a two RBI single from Alayna DeGraef and a walk.
Game two saw STAC open the scoring on a single from Trinadey Santiago before GBC scored three in the seconding inning on senior Emma Friel (Coatesville, PA) taking a hit by the pitch to walk home freshman Jillian Coulbourn (Frankford, DE) and Frank getting a two RBI single. STACÂ responded with two more runs of its own on an error and a single from Sofia Marella.
The fourth inning saw another single from Frank to score Johnson and a triple from STAC's Elyse Marcano to score on an error. In the fifth inning, freshman Bella Musey (Millville, NJ) doubled to send home Coulbourn, before the winning double from senior Rayna Pelcak (Laurel Springs, N.J.) in the sixth inning scored Friel and freshman Kelci Gingras (Orem, UT).
Goldey-Beacom continues play in Florida on Thursday, where they play Ferris State at 10:00 am and Minot State at 2:30 pm.
