Goldey-Beacom women's basketball faced CACC opponent Dominican (NY) in Wilmington, DE and walked away with a 71-63 victory for its fourth conference win of the season.
Goldey-Beacom came out strong on the offensive end, putting up 21 points in the first quarter and heading into halftime with a 36-27 lead. The second half saw back-and-forth action from both teams, but the Lightning applied defensive pressures and continued strong offense to secure the victory.
Goldey-Beacom was led by junior Genesis Garcia (Aguada, P.R.) with a career-best 22 points. Senior Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) shot 3-of-4 from 3-point range in adding 12 points with seven rebounds. Senior Karlee Lemon (Williamsburg, Va.) and sophomore Marasia Dyes (Binghamton, N.Y.) both notched nine points and four assists.
Dominican (NY) was led by Ketura Rutty with 25 points and 15 rebounds, Isabella Javier with 15 points and Tamia Nunes with 12 rebounds.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Tuesday, when it hosts Wilmington (DE) in the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, DE at 6:00 pm.
