Goldey-Beacom women's basketball faced CACC opponent Holy Family in the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, DE, but came up short and was dealt an 84-53 loss by the current number one team in the conference.
Holy Family, which now is 9-0 in conference play, came out strong on the offensive end and continued the pressure throughout all 40 minutes of play. The Lightning showed strong efforts on both the offensive and defensive ends but could not prevail against the Tigers, who picked up their 14th win of the season.
Goldey-Beacom was led by senior Karlee Lemon (Williamsburg, Va.) with 10 points. Freshman Angie Zagone (Woodbury Heights, N.J.) notched nine points and two blocks and senior Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) finished with seven rebounds.
Holy Family was led by Taylor Hinkle and Lauren Palangio, each having 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Saturday, when it faces Caldwell in the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, DE for a 1:00 pm game.
