Goldey-Beacom women's tennis traveled back to Philadelphia, PA to resume the match against Chestnut Hill that was postponed last Wednesday due to inclement weather. The doubles point was awarded to Goldey-Beacom last week before the postponement, and today the Lightning persevered to come away with the 4-3 victory.
In doubles, GBC had a leg up by winning at third doubles via forfeit and then at No. 1 doubles on the court. Senior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) and freshman Jenna Frank (Ulm, Germany) got what looked like their second victory of the season, notching a 6-3 triumph over Elena Arenas Guisasola and Claudia Rasilla Romero.
No.1 singles saw sophomore Camilla Franzin (Trieste, Italy) have a 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 victory over Milica Zagorac and second singles was won 7-6, 6-3 by Frank against Elena Arenas Guisasola. The Griffins claimed third, fourth, and fifth singles, but a forfeit at sixth singles led the Lightning their first match win of the season.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Tuesday, where they face Jefferson at the Independence School in Newark, DE for a 3:30pm match.
