Women's tennis traveled to Philadelphia, PA to face Jefferson in their first match of the season, but were dealt an 0-7 loss to the Rams.
The doubles point went to Jefferson, with Alycia Veroux and Anouk Oderkerk taking the No. 1 doubles victory over senior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) and freshman Jenna Frank (Ulm, Germany). Rose Huang and Marta Vázquez took the second set from sophomore Ihsane Achouri (Casablanca, Morocco) and senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain). Number two doubles was won by Emily Frost and Sophia Babar against freshman Ana Thaler (Slovenia) and senior Elina Mukhamadeeva (Kazan, Russia).
Jefferson was victorious in all the single matches with Oderkerk playing Quinonez at No. 1 singles, Veroux facing Frank in second singles, Vázquez playing Corte at No. 3 singles, Huang and Achouri in fourth singles, Babar playing Thaler in No. 5 singles, and Frost facing Mukhamadeeva at sixth singles.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Tuesday, where they host Post at 3:30 pm at the Independence School in Newark, DE.
