8/21/2025 12:00:00 AM

Coming off a return trip to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament, Goldey-Beacom was picked to close third in the league based on a vote of the league's coaches.

Senior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) is back after another exceptional campaign, notching a combined 29-10 record that included 15-5 in doubles and 14-5 in singles.  The 2023 CACC Rookie of the Year, Quinonez last season amassed eight straight victories in singles and three doubles winning streaks of at least four matches.

Senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain) last season was a key contributor, recording a 12-4 singles record and a 10-5 doubles mark.  Eleven of her singles wins came in straight sets and she notched three winning streaks of at least three matches.

Senior Elina Mukhamadeeva (Kazan, Russia) amassed two singles victories last season and sophomore Ihsane Achouri (Casablanca, Morocco) returns after battling injuries.

Goldey-Beacom (15-5, 7-3 CACC) last season had yet another impressive campaign in which it won the final three regular-season matches to reach the conference tournament for the first time since 2019.  GBC in the spring under assistant coach Eric Burns, who has been promoted to head coach, went 7-1 and was ranked as high as 47th in the country.

Goldey-Beacom also is proud to announce its 2025-26 home matches and practices will take place at The Independent School in Newark.  Located just over two miles from the College's Pike Creek campus, The Independence School offers the perfect opportunity with the required six courts and the school only playing interscholastic tennis in the spring.

The season opens September 13, when Goldey-Beacom visits Jefferson for a 2:00 pm match.
