Goldey-Beacom's Women's Basketball team has earned a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.

The Lightning closed 22nd in the country with a 3.702 GPA on an honor roll that looks at each teams GPA involving student-athletes who are on their squad the entire season.  GBC also was the only team from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to make this list.

This is the second time in four years Goldey-Beacom has been cited by the WBCA.  The team received a "Special Mention" for academic excellence in 2022 by the association.

Eight players from last season's team were picked to the CACC All-Academic Team.  Julie McCarron (Wilmington, DE) made the list a fourth time, Karlee Lemon (Williamsburg, VA) was honored a second time with Azuri Abraham (Phillipsburg, NJ), Farrah White (Wilmington, DE), Tamea El (East Brunswick, NJ), Maddy Hackman (Vernon, BC), Azra Ozgul (Eskisehir, Turkiye) and Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA) each making their first appearance.

Lemon, McCarron, White and Yoder were among the maximum four to be picked College Sports Communications Academic All-District.

"I'm incredibly proud of our team for what they've accomplished in the classroom," Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator/Women's Basketball Coach Bethann Burke said.  "This recognition is a testament to their commitment, discipline and pride they take in representing Goldey-Beacom both on and off the court."
