Track & Field Teams Win Three Win Major CACC Season-Ending Awards; Joe Dare Tabbed Men’s Coach of the Year

5/22/2025 12:00:00 AM

An incredible year for Goldey-Beacom's Track & Field teams saw the trophy case get more company with sophomore Jalen Wright (Wilmington, DE) named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Year, Ty'Shawn Ewings (Harrisburg, PA) tabbed Men's Field Rookie of the Year, Ryley Dixon (Pilesgrove, NJ) picked Women's Track Rookie of the Year and Joe Dare named the Men's Coach of the Year.

All three student-athletes also were named All-East Region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Wright had a standout campaign that saw him take home three gold medals at the CACC Championship.  He won the 400-meter dash in 47.63 seconds, the 400-meter hurdles in 52.91 seconds and was the anchor for the 4x400-meter relay team, which helped secure the first conference title in program history.

At the prestigious Penn Relays, Wright ran in the 400-meter hurdles and with the 4x400-meter relay team.  He closed the year with seven victories and 15 top-10 showings.

Ewings gave the Lightning a massive lift, closing fourth in the high jump at 2.00 meters and seventh with the 4x100-meter relay team in 43.95 seconds at the CACC Championship.  He had three victories on the year and 14 top-10 finishes.

Dixon simply was amazing the entire campaign en route to being named the College's Female Rookie of the Year.  The CACC Championship was an example with her closing second in the 200-meter dash in 24.79 seconds, third in the 400-meter dash in 57.16 seconds, fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12.71 seconds and fourth with the 4x400-meter relay team in 4:09.50.

Dixon ended the year with six wins and 20 top-10 finishes.  Also a member of the women's soccer team, she paced the squad last fall with six goals, six assists and 18 points.

The women this year closed a program-best third at the CACC Championship, bettering its fifth-place showing from 2023.

In his third season as head coach of the track & field and cross country programs, Dare has taken the squads to new levels.  This was on full display with the men's track & field team, which won the CACC crown in just the program's seventh year.  GBC had four CACC champions in the meet and a combined five for the two teams picked all-region.
