Baseball Season Ends With Loss to Jefferson in the NCAA Tournament

Despite an outstanding defensive play from Adam McEvoy (Sewell, NJ) and a go-ahead home run from fellow senior Jaden Dickerson (New Castle, DE), Goldey-Beacom saw its remarkable 2025 season conclude with a 17-4 loss to Jefferson at the NCAA Tournament in Center Valley, PA.

This ends yet another incredibly successful campaign for Goldey-Beacom (34-21), which only is in its ninth season since the program's reinstatement.  The squad made the NCAA Tournament for a fourth time with all coming in the last five seasons, was nationally ranked for the third time in the last four campaigns, regionally ranked all season in reaching number one and made the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament a fifth straight year.

The Lightning recorded a school-record 15-game winning streak and started a team-best 12-0 in the CACC, making it 14 straight league triumphs dating to last season.

GBC this season also saw senior Dickerson, junior Anthony Charles (Mullica Hill, NJ) and senior Mikey Hawbaker (Hagerstown, MD) each named second team All-CACC.  The all-region squads are yet to be announced.

The Rams today in the last of the third inning plated three runs to open the scoring.  Jay Kalieta scored on a throwing error, Gabe Silva dropped a perfect bunt to plate Jay Salsbery and Justin Egner crossed home on another throwing error for a 3-0 margin.

McEvoy did an outstanding job of limiting the damage on a potential double steal, keeping Goldey-Beacom in the game.  He threw the ball to senior Braden Kolmansberger (Lewisberry, PA) at second to get Javon Hernandez and Kolmansberger tossed the ball to third, where freshman Brent Williams (Woodstown, NJ) erased Silva as the latter dove back to the base.

Thanks to the momentum of McEvoy's play, the Lightning got two runs back in the top of the fourth.  Kolmansberger led off with a single, scored after a double from sophomore Bobby Stewart (Newark, DE) was followed by a throwing error and senior Dante DiSabatino (Middletown, DE) followed with an RBI single.

Goldey-Beacom then took the lead in the fifth when Dickerson crushed a two-run homer down the left-field line for a 4-3 contest.  It was his 11th long ball of the campaign, tying him with Stewart and Charles for the team lead.

All of those home run totals are tied for third on the team's single-season list.

It was the Rams (39-15) turn to respond and they did with seven runs in the last of the fifth for a 10-4 game.  Thomas Matuszewski plated one on an RBI single, Silva crossed home on a throwing error for the lead, Kalieta drew a bases-loaded walk and Salsbery cracked a grand slam.

Luis Beato Mora in the eighth hit a three-run homer and Silva added a two-run single.

Charles closed 3-for-3 with Stewart and DiSabatino getting two hits apiece for the Lightning.

Danny Kerr struck out five over eight innings for the Rams with Silva getting two hits and four RBI.
