No. 47 Women’s Tennis Captures Fifth Straight Victory, 6-1 Over Kutztown

No. 47 Goldey-Beacom did not drop a set in its victories and needed just over two hours for its fifth consecutive triumph, 6-1 over Kutztown at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The doubles point went the Lightning's way for the 13th time this season.  Senior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) and junior Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkiye) got a 6-2 victory at first doubles over Emma Semery and Ximena Bolanos, junior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) and senior Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) notched a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles vs. Bieke Roovers and Isabela de Nadai with freshman Sofia Lopez (Bogota, Colombia) and senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain) recording a 6-1 triumph at third doubles over Gabby Gentile and Ryleigh Bohning.
 
Quinonez' 14th doubles win of the season moves her into a tie for 10th place on the school's single-season list.
 
Hendin-Walker was the first to complete her singles match, moving to 7-0 in singles and a combined 13-0 including doubles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5 over Gentile.  Mova also had a 6-0, 6-1 victory, doing so at first singles over Semery.
 
Junior Elina Mukhamadeeva (Kazan, Russia) got a 6-0, 6-2 win at sixth singles over Bohning before Quinonez moved to 12-4 in singles and 26-7 overall with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3 over Bolanos.  Lopez moved to 14-1 in singles by ending the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 vs. de Nadai.
 
Goldey-Beacom does not play again until April 12, when it hosts Indiana (PA) at 1:00 pm.
