Goldey-Beacom faced a tough West Chester team, but remained perfect in the spring season with a 5-2 victory on the road in West Chester, PA.
The Lightning (12-4) dropped the doubles point to start off the day, despite a 6-3 victory in No. 2 doubles by junior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) and senior Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) over Gabriella Lerario dos Santos and Felicia Manful.
Senior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) fought back at first singles to pick up a 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) victory over Delaney Jingle. Junior Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkiye) also rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) win at No. 2 singles over Ashleigh Grooms.
In No. 3 singles, Quinonez had a 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (12-10) triumph over Alexandra Cave and No. 4 singles was won by Hendin-Walker with a decisive 6-3, 6-0 scorecard over Lerario dos Santos. Freshman Sofia Lopez (Bogota, Colombia) won at No. 6 singles over Manful, 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (10-2).
The 12 victories is the most since the 2018-19 "Sweet 16" squad won 16. The squad this spring improved to 4-0.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Tuesday vs. Kutztown at 3:00pm at the Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington.
