No. 48 Women’s Tennis Notches 5-2 Triumph Over East Stroudsburg

No. 48 Goldey-Beacom received a battle from a tough East Stroudsburg squad, but remained perfect in the spring with a 5-2 victory at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
GBC (11-4) got the doubles point in convincing fashion.  Senior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) and junior Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkiye) notched a 6-4 triumph at first doubles over Marketa Beladova and Louise Boyer-Vidal, junior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) and senior Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) got a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles over Lea Stefanovic and Ariel Kelsick with freshman Sofia Lopez (Bogota, Colombia) and senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain) amassing a 6-0 victory at third doubles vs. Bega Gotor and Claudia Ermina.
 
Mova rallied for a 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (15-13) win at first singles over Beladova and Quinonez got a 6-0, 6-4 triumph at No. 3 singles vs. Boyer-Vidal.  Corte got a 6-1, 6-1 win vs. Gotor at No. 5 singles and Hendin-Walker recorded a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at sixth singles over Ermina.
 
Lopez was dealt her first singles loss of the season, which followed a 12-0 start.  After rolling in the first set, she was dealt a 0-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) setback by Kelsick for the Warriors (6-4).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday is at West Chester for a 3:00 pm match.
