Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men’s Basketball Faces Set Back by Wilminington (DE) Before CACC Tournament

Goldey-Beacom men's basketball faced a determined Wilmington (DE) squad and was dealt a 98-83 loss before heading into the CACC Tournament.

The first half saw equal and physical play from both sides, as Wilmington only had a five point lead heading into halftime. Wilmington came out strong in the second half and outscored GBC by 10. The Wildcats were in a win-and-in situation for the conference tournament and prevailing on taking the fourth seed with their victory over the Lightning.


The Lightning were led by freshman Tre Powell (Mount Laurel, N.J), who finished with 16 points, three assists, and two steals. Junior Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, N.J.) added 14 points and four rebounds, Senior David Robinson (Philadelphia, PA) netted 13 points and five rebounds, and junior Shane Taylor (Ellicott City, Md.) added 11 points.


Wilmington was led by Manir Waller and Justin Perez, who both finished with 22 points. Izaiah Cradle added 17 points and seven rebounds and Tre Hawkins finished with 16 points.


Goldey-Beacom plays Post in the quarterfinals of the CACC Tournament on Tuesday at 6:00 pm in Waterbury, CT.
