Women’s Basketball Handed 80-70 Setback by Chestnut Hill



Goldey-Beacom women's basketball fell behind early and was unable to complete the tough comeback, resulting in a 80-70 defeat to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Chestnut Hill.


Chestnut Hill jumped to an early lead after the first quarter, leading GBC 36-13 after only 10 minutes. Goldey-Beacom chipped away at its deficit, bringing the lead down to only three points going into the fourth quarter, but Chestnut Hill held on en route to its 10th conference victory of the season.


The Lightning were led by sophomore Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA), finished with 23 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Senior Julie Kulesza (Wilmington, DE) added 17 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, while sophomore Farrah White (Wilmington, DE) netted eight points.


Chestnut Hill was led by Bridie McCann with 20 points, Sara Tamoun adding 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Avery White with 12 points and six assists.


Goldey-Beacom plays next on Saturday, where they face Georgian Court in Lakewood, NJ at 1pm.
