Dev Napier Places First in 60m Dash at Men’s Track and Field Opening Meet at Terrier Classic

Goldey-Beacom men's track and field saw a phenomenal start to the 2025 season in Boston, MA at the Terrier Classic with two school records and a first and third place finish in the 60-meter dash.

On the track, senior Dev Napier (Hagerstown, Md.) placed first in the Invite 60-meter dash with a time of 6.81. Napier set a new school record for the 60-meter dash, surpassing his own previous record of 6.92. Napier also grabbed a 13th place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.88.

Competing in the same 60-meter dash, junior Xachary Tucker (Middletown, DE) placed third with a time of 6.83. In the 200-meter dash, sophomore Chris Robinson (Philadelphia, PA) and junior Kedar Reid (Bear, DE) placed 99th and 101st with times of 23.54 and 23.59. Closing out the track events, sophomore Jalen Wright (Wilmington, DE) placed 36th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.77 and freshman Lathan Love-Brown (Wilmington, DE) finished 70th with 52.10.

A solo Lightning athlete in the field events, junior Jayvon Laguerre set a new school record in high-jump with a jump of 1.96m (6'5"). Laguerre out jumped his own previous school record of 1.93m (6'3") and grabbed a sixth place finish.

Goldey-Beacom travels to Chester, PA on February 14 to compete at the Widener Indoor Classic, with events beginning at 5pm.
