Men’s Basketball Cranks Up the Offense in 105-88 Victory Over Franklin Pierce

Goldey-Beacom poured in 61 second-half points, turning a close game into a 105-88 triumph over Franklin Pierce at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The first 7 1/2 minutes of the second half was the key to the Lightning's third victory in their last four outings.  The squad outscored the Ravens 34-12 by shooting 87 percent (13-of-15) from the floor in that time with four 3-pointers.  Senior Justin Allen (Boca Raton, FL) poured in eight points in the spurt with junior Emarquis Jones (Brooklyn, NY) adding seven.
 
Goldey-Beacom (8-5) for the half shot 64 percent (23-of-36) from the field and was 11-for-13 from the foul line.  Allen closed the half with 12 points, junior Julian Williams (Fayetteville, NC) netted 11 with sophomore Brian Blanchet (North Babylon, NY) adding nine.
 
Franklin Pierce shot just 39 percent (16-of-41) from the floor in the half and was 5-of-18 from 3-point range.
 
Williams had 18 points and 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season, Blanchet also netted 18 points, sophomore Tre Powell (Mount Laurel, NJ) scored 17, Jones amassed 14 and eight rebounds with Allen getting 14 points.
 
Anthony Parker scored 19 points, Emmanuel Ferreras netted 18 on 7-of-9 shooting, Raymond Baka scored 12 with Beni Lavodrama adding 10 for the Ravens (4-8).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Saturday returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at Bridgeport.  Game time is at 3:00 pm, which follows the women's 1:00 pm contest.
