Women’s Basketball Defeated, 61-43, by Saint Anselm

Goldey-Beacom women's basketball traveled to distance to Manchester, NH to face non-conference opponent Saint Anselm, but was dealt a 61-43 loss.

The Lightning came out strong in the first half of play, heading into halftime with a 23-19 lead. Saint Anselm answered in the second half and outscored GBC 42-20 in the final 20 minutes of play en route to its 18-point victory to remain undefeated on the season.

Goldey-Beacom was led by senior Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) with 11 points and eight rebounds. Fellow senior Gaia Zimbardo (Parma, Italy) added eight points and five rebounds with junior Genesis Garcia (Aguada, P.R.) netting seven points.

Saint Anselm was led by Meghan Trapper with 23 points and nine rebounds, Bella Vaz with eight points and Kaitlin McDonough with five points and 19 rebounds.

Goldey-Beacom plays next on Friday, when it heads to Rindge, NH to face Franklin Pierce at noon.
