Goldey-Beacom women's basketball faced CACC opponent Felician at the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, DE, but came up short and was dealt a 68-58 loss.
The Lightning came out strong in the first quarter, putting up 25 points compared to Felician's 16, but the Golden Falcons responded quickly and went into halftime with a six-point lead. The third quarter saw back-and-forth scoring from both sides, but the fourth quarter was controlled by Felician on the offensive side, leading to its third conference victory of the season.
Goldey-Beacom was led by senior Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) with 15 points and five rebounds. Sophomore Lydia Betz (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and senior Gaia Zimbardo (Parma, Italy) both put up 10 points and junior Genesis Garcia (Aguada, P.R) added nine points and three assists.
Felician was led by Stephanie Formby with 25 points and 11 rebounds and Deviney Jackson with 15 points. Mckenzie Palek and Ane Valle both finished with 11 points apiece.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Thursday, when it travels to Manchester, NH for non-conference play against Saint Anselm at 3:00 pm.
