Basketball Teams Get Two on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom sophomore Tre Powell (Mount Laurel, NJ) and sophomore Lydia Betz (Pittsburgh, PA) have been named to their respective basketball teams Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

Powell scored a season-high 23 points on 6-of-10 shooting with six assists, three rebounds and three steals Friday vs. West Chester.

It has been a standout beginning for Powell, who is averaging 20.8 points over four games with 18 assists and 15 rebounds. He also scored 22 points November 14 against D'Youville and 21 points November 18 at Bowie State.

Betz averaged 17.0 points on 12-of-24 shooting and 5.5 rebounds over two games to go with four steals and three blocks. She scored a season-best 21 points to go with five rebounds Saturday at Saint Thomas Aquinas after getting 13 and six Wednesday vs. Staten Island.

Betz has the ability to play all five positions and has been a key so far for the Lightning. She is averaging 14.5 points on the young campaign to go with 4.0 rebounds per contest.
