Goldey-Beacom women's basketball faced a tough Daemen squad on day two of opening weekend at Wilmington University and was handed a 96-61 loss in the second game of the season.
Daemen came out strong in the first quarter, putting up an impressive 31 points in the first 10 minutes and continued its offensive pursuits throughout the game to improve their record to 2-0.
The Lightning saw strong efforts from multiple players, with sophomore Lydia Betz (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finishing with 14 points, senior Karlee Lemon (Williamsburg, Va.) adding 11 points and three rebounds with freshman Amber Furtado (Deerfield, N.H) notching 10 points and four rebounds.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Wednesday, when it faces Staten Island for its home opener in the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, DE at 6:00 pm.
