Women’s Tennis Records 6-1 Triumph Over Post

Goldey-Beacom won the doubles point and got three straight-set victories in singles for a 6-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over Post at The Independence School in Newark, DE.
 
Goldey-Beacom (2-4, 2-4 CACC) opened things by easily taking the doubles point.  Sophomore Camilla Franzin (Trieste, Italy) and senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain) rolled to a 6-0 victory over Julie Merlin and Laura Kotala at No. 1 with senior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) and freshman Jenna Frank (Ulm, Germany) getting a 6-1 triumph vs. Vitalina Sokoliuk and Gioia Turco at second doubles.
 
Frank got her third singles win of the season with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 3 singles over Kotala.  Freshman Ana Thaler notched a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fourth singles vs. Turco and Quinonez recorded a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Sokoliuk at No. 2 singles.  Franzin was pushed to a match tiebreak at No. 1 singles before getting a 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) victory against Merlin for the Eagles (0-9, 0-6).
 
Goldey-Beacom on Friday is right back at it against Dominican (NY), beginning at 2:00 pm in Monsey, NY.
