Goldey-Beacom women's tennis resumed play against Wilmington (DE) at the Independence School in Newark, DE after the match was postponed the previous day due to darkness at 3-1.
On Monday, GBC won the doubles point in impressive fashion. Sophomore Camilla Franzin (Trieste, Italy) and senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain) got a 7-5 triumph at first doubles over Molly Carlberg and Ming-Fu Chen with senior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) and freshman Jenna Frank (Ulm, Germany) getting a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles against Ines Oliveira and Siana MacDonald.
In today's resumed match, Wilmington prevailed in capturing all six singles points despite strong efforts from the Lightning and No.1 singles, third singles, and fourth singles all being forced to three sets.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Thursday, where they play a make-up match against Post at the Independence School in Newark, DE at 3:30pm.
