Goldey-Beacom was in a 3-1 hole against Wilmington before having its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match suspended due to darkness.

The teams will resume Tuesday at 2:00 pm back at The Independence School in Newark.

GBC won the doubles point in impressive fashion.  Sophomore Camilla Franzin (Trieste, Italy) and senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain) got a 7-5 triumph at first doubles over Molly Carlberg and Ming-Fu Chen with senior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) and freshman Jenna Frank (Ulm, Germany) getting a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles against Ines Oliveira and Siana MacDonald.

Franzin forced her match at No. 1 singles to a third set in dramatic fashion, staving off two match points in the 12th game of set two against MacDonald and then got a 7-3 win in the tiebreak.  Corte is headed to a third set at fourth singles after a win in the first-set tiebreak, 7-5 against Elena Camacho.  Frank is going to a third set at No. 3 singles vs. Chen, rallying from 0-2 down in the second-set tiebreak to win 7-2.
