Goldey-Beacom women's basketball picked up its fourth victory in a row and its second win of the new year with a 74-66 triumph over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent Bloomfield.
The Lightning started off the game strong, leading 24-16 after the first quarter. Bloomfield clawed its way back in heading into halftime with only a five-point deficit. Bloomfield continued their push into the beginning of the fourth quarter where they started off the final 10 minutes of play leading by six. Goldey-Beacom picked up its momentum due to impressive free throw shooting and put up 24 points in the final quarter en route to its second conference victory.
The Lightning were led by sophomore Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA), who finished with a season-high 21 points to go with eight rebounds. Julie Kulesza (Wilmington, DE) added 20 points, going 10-for-11 from the free-throw line, and fellow senior Julie McCarron (Wilmington, DE) finished with 14 points that included hitting 9-for-10 from the free throw line.
Bloomfield was led by Taneshia Tucker, who finished with 27 points, and Kamrin Babbs, who added 14.
Goldey-Beacom plays next on Saturday against CACC for Dominican (NY) at the Joseph West Jones Center at 1pm.
