Goldey-Beacom once again played a solid game on both sides of the court and won its third straight with a 62-54 victory at Staten Island in Staten Island, NY.

GBC put its foot on the gas pedal late in the second quarter, ending it with an 18-9 run to open a 35-23 halftime cushion.  Senior Julie Kulesza (Wilmington, DE) netted six points in that spurt and closed the half with 10.

The Lightning for the half shot 46 percent (13-of-28) from the floor and canned five 3-pointers.

The Dolphins hung around early in the final quarter when Madison Haggert hit two free throws with 8:18 remaining for a 49-39 deficit.

Goldey-Beacom (4-10) then settled things with a 9-3 spurt, getting a 3-pointer each freshman Lydia Betz (Pittsburgh, PA), junior Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) and senior Julie McCarron (Wilmington, DE) for a 58-42 margin with 5:39 to go.

Kulesza, the two-time reigning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, poured in 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting with nine rebounds and seven assists.  Ciszkowski scored 15 points and hit four 3-pointers.

Sophomore Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA) netted 10 points with McCarron and Betz, the reigning CACC Rookie of the Week, getting eight apiece.

Haggert scored 14 points with Amber Abusbeih adding 12 for the Dolphins (8-5), who shot just 35 percent (20-of-57) from the field and 8-of-25 from beyond the arc.
