Men’s Basketball Falls, 101-93, to Dominican (NY)



Goldey-Beacom found itself in a shootout against Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference-foe Dominican (NY) and was handed a 101-93 setback at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Chargers in the second half poured in 59 points by shooting 56 percent (18-of-32) from the floor, thanks to 18 points Emmanuel Smith and 12 from Jaden Honis.  The Lightning shot 57 percent (16-of-28) from the floor during that span, but were undone by 12 turnovers.
 
Sophomore Zakari McQueen (Petersburg, VA), the reigning CACC Player of the Week, scored 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting and was 5-of-11 from three-point range.  It is the fifth time this season he has scored at least 20 points this season and he is averaging 24.0 points over his last four contests.
 
Junior Shane Taylor (Ellicott City, MD) scored 18 points, freshman Tre Powell (Mount Laurel, NJ) netted 17, senior David Robinson (Philadelphia, PA) had 15 and 11 rebounds with freshman Anthony Akande (Newark, NJ) adding 10 points for GBC (5-10, 2-2 CACC).
 
Honis netted 30 points, Smith poured in 25 points, Isaiah scored 16 points with Jueiz Dickerson adding 11 for the Chargers (9-5, 4-0), who are ranked 10th in the East Region according to D2CSC.
 
Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday visits Chestnut Hill for an 8:00 pm game.  The women's contest between the same schools precedes it at 6:00 pm.
