Goldey-Beacom continued its early solid play by opening its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference slate with a 7-0 victory at Dominican (NY) in Monsey, NY.
 
The doubles point easily went the Lightning's way for a 1-0 lead.  Senior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine), last season named second team All-CACC, and freshman Sofia Lopez (Bogota, Colombia) got a 6-1 triumph over Preeti Koli and Kyla Fouts at No. 1 doubles.  Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) and fellow senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain) also were victorious, 6-0 over Ava O'Brien and Olivia Lopez at third doubles.
 
Mova's singles match was the most intriguing and she got the win at No. 1, recording a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (11-9) win over Angelina Amelkina.  Junior Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkiye) amassed a 6-1, 6-2 victory at second singles over Koli.  Reigning CACC Rookie of the Year Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) notched a 6-1, 6-0 win at third singles over Fouts.
 
Junior Jess Sanzo (Bristol, England) got a 6-1, 6-0 victory at fourth singles vs. Lia Sarjveladze, Lopez notched a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles against O'Brien and Corte recorded a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at sixth singles over Lopez.
 
Goldey-Beacom (1-0) moves to 2-0 on the year and Dominican dropped its first match of the season.
 
Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday faces Wilmington (DE) at Delcastle Tennis Center, starting at 2:00 pm.
