Softball Notches 6-1 Triumph at Chestnut Hill

Goldey-Beacom completed its series with Chestnut Hill with a 6-1 victory in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play in Philadelphia, PA.

Chestnut Hill took a 1-0 lead in the second on a wild pitch, but Goldey-Beacom's answer was difficult to contend with.

A four-run rally in the third came off two fielder's choice plays, a defensive error from the Griffins, and a final grounded out-RBI from sophomore Morgan Scott (Elwood, IN).

The Lightning's final two runs came in the sixth off a throwing error for Chestnut Hill, which scored sophomore Emma Friel (Coatesville, PA) and sophomore Alesia Doctor (Rising Sun, MD).

Junior Cat Nelson (Wilmington, DE) provided strong play on the mound, striking out five and allowing just three hits over 4.0 innings pitched. Senior Hannah Davis closed with one hit and two RBI, and junior Bryn Bohmann and Scott notched one hit and one RBI apiece for GBC (17-21, 7-3 CACC).

Camille Dunham, Amaris Guzman, and Skyler Cunningham each had one hit for Chestnut Hill (1-19, 0-12 CACC).

Goldey-Beacom returns to the Jackson Athletic Complex on Wednesday for a 2:00 pm doubleheader against Jefferson in Wilmington, DE.
