Goldey-Beacom secured its second consecutive victory with a 4-3 win over Chestnut Hill in non-conference play at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.

Having dropped the doubles point, despite a 6-2 win at No. 1 singles from junior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) and sophomore Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey), Goldey-Beacom looked to bounce back, and that it did.

At No. 2 singles, Canbaz comfortably worked for a 7-5, 6-3 over Elena Arenas, while sophomore Hannah Brandl (Neufeld, Austria) also saw a 6-1, 6-2 two set victory over Anisha Reddy at No. 6 singles.

Sophomore Jess Sanzo (Bristol, England) and junior Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswich, England) each battled to three sets at No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Having dropped the first set 4-6, Sanzo fought to a 6-2, 6-3 win in the next sets to take the triumph over Nele Haag. Hendin-Walker secured the first set 6-3 over Claudia Rasilla but dropped the second 3-6 before notching a 6-1 win in the third to secure the 4-3 Lightning victory.

Goldey-Beacom hosts Millersville on Tuesday in a noon matchup at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
