Three From Track & Field Picked For CACC Weekly Honors

The first week of track & field awards from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference saw senior Ashwin Jood (Pretoria, South Africa) picked the Men's Track Athlete of the Week, freshman Ke'nai Massiah (Elkins Park, PA) named Men's Track Rookie of the Week and freshman Tania Alfaro tabbed for the Women's Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Jood dominated with two first-place finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. He came across the line in 10.52 seconds in the 100 and in 20.96 seconds during the 200 last Friday at the Stockton Invitational.
 
Jood owns the sixth-best time in the 200-meter dash, just 0.24 seconds off the top spot.  Last season at Carson-Newman University, he closed eighth in the 400-meter dash at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
 
Massiah notched two third-place finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes with times of 10.89 seconds and 22.10 seconds, respectively, Friday at the Stockton Invitational.
 
Alfaro took first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.97 and fourth in the 200-meters with a time of 27.45 at the Stockton Invitational.
 
The teams will be action this Friday and Saturday at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, NC.
