Women's Basketball Closes Regular Season With 92-55 Victory over Wilmington (DE) on Senior Day



Goldey-Beacom dominated in a 92-55 regular season victory over Wilmington (DE) in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup at the Joseph West Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Lightning retained a 27-point lead at the half, having held the Wildcats to just six points in the second quarter. Goldey-Beacom saw an efficient first half, shooting 11-of-16 from three-point range and shooting 55-percent from the floor for a 50-23 lead.
 
Goldey-Beacom led by as many as 43 with 5:08 left following a made jumper from freshman Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA). The Lightning held Wilmington (DE) to just 26-percent shooting, dished 22 assists and shot an astounding 16-of-23 from three-point range in the 92-55 win.
 
Sophomore Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) was near unstoppable, closing with 20 points on 6-of-7 shooting and 4-of-4 from three-point range. She also grabbed six rebounds and dished six assists.
 
Fellow sophomore Karlee Lemon (Williamsburg, VA) and junior Julie McCarron (Wilmington, DE) notched 12 points and four assists apiece, with senior Janiya Stevens (Ellendale, DE) added 11 points for GBC (7-21, 6-10 CACC).
 
Amber Washington and Trinity Brittingham had 14 points each for Wilmington (DE) (2-25, 1-15).
 
Stevens and fellow senior Zhuri Cannon (Columbia, MD) were honored in their final regular season home game. 
 
Goldey-Beacom travels to Waterbury, CT on Tuesday to face Post in the first round of the CACC tournament after closing the regular season as the #4 seed in the South Division.  Game time is at 7:30 pm.
