Basketball Teams Close Opening Weekend



Senior Zayon Marsh (Maplewood, NJ) eclipsed 1,000 career points in Goldey-Beacom Men's Basketball's 90-74 win over the District of Columbia and Women's Basketball was dealt a 54-46 setback by New Haven at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
Marsh becomes the 13th player in team history to reach quadruple figures, closing with 20 points in moving to 1,014 career.  Junior Shane Taylor (Ellicott City, MD) netted 18 points, sophomore Zakari McQueen (Petersburg, VA) scored 15 with freshman Tre Powell (Mount Laurel, NJ) adding 13 for Goldey-Beacom (1-1).
 
Senior Julie Kulesza (Wilmington, DE) scored 12 points for the women's side (0-2), sophomore Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA) netted 10, Azuri Abraham (Phillipsburg, NJ) had nine and 10 rebounds with fellow senior Julie McCarron (Wilmington, DE) netting eight points.
 
Both teams return to action Wednesday with the men hosting Millersville at 4:00 pm and the women visiting Kutztown at 5:30 pm.
