Goldey-Beacom women's basketball was dealt a 69-62 loss by non-conference opponent, Pace, in Pleasantville, NY before heading into the holiday break.
The Lightning were able to get the game with three with two minutes left, but Pace was able to put up four quick points to extend its lead and gain its first win of the season.
Goldey-Beacom was led by sophomore Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA) who put up 16 points and seven rebounds. Seniors Azuri Abraham (Phillipsburg, NJ) and Julie Kulesza (Wilmington, DE) both finished with 12 points apiece and junior Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) added 11.
Pace was led by Arianna Stockinger, who finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Goldey-Beacom begins conference play on Tuesday, where they take on Jefferson on the road in Philadelphia, PA at 6pm.
