Goldey-Beacom women's basketball was outscored by eight against non-conference opponent, Bowie State, and was defeated 79-71 in Wilmington, DE.
The Lightning played strong in the first half and went into halftime with a 33-30 lead. However, Bowie State picked up some momentum in the third quarter and notched its second win of the season.
Goldey-Beacom was led by senior Julie McCarron (Wilmington, DE), who finished with 18 points. Sophomore Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA) also added 16 points and seven rebounds.
Junior Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE) netted 14 points and now is averaging 14.3 points over her last three contests.
Bowie State was led by Destiny Ryles, who finished with 40 points. This included 35 points in the second half after being plagued by foul trouble in the first.
Goldey-Beacom plays Pace on Tuesday in Pleasantville, NY at 5pm.
