Men’s Basketball Falls, 73-56, to Queens (NY)



Goldey-Beacom could not overcome solid shooting in the second half from Queens (NY) and was handed a 73-56 loss at the Jones Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
The Knights went on a barrage in the second half, shooting 52 percent (14-of-27) from the field.  Damiri Lindo scored 11 points in that time with Jayden Seraphin, Jade Tse, Tyler Michel and Shamar Chester adding five apiece. 
 
Sophomore Zakari McQueen (Petersburg, VA) again played great, scoring 15 points to give him double figures in four of the Lightning's first six games.  Freshman Tre Powell (Mount Laurel, NJ) added 11 on 4-of-7 shooting and now is averaging 12.7 points over his last three contests.
 
Sophomore Jalen Robinson (South Orange, NJ) and junior Shane Taylor (Ellicott City, MD) poured in nine points apiece for Goldey-Beacom (2-4).
 
Tse closed with a game-high 18 points, Lindo netted 16 with Chester adding 12 for the Knights (2-3), who shot 49 percent (27-of-55) from the floor.
 
Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday hosts East Stroudsburg, beginning at 6:00 pm.
