Goldey-Beacom men's soccer improved its record and made a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament appearance for the second straight year, but today was handed a 3-1 loss at Georgian Court in Lakewood, NJ.
The Lightning battled hard throughout the first half, but gave up three goals in the second half in leading to a 3-0 deficit. Freshman Ogün Ünal (Frankfurt, Germany) scored for GBC in the 82nd minute off a penalty kick for his third career goal.
Seniors Byron Suarez, Johan Hajj, Nick Perez, Sincere Kato, Kel Ordonez, Luis Brugal, Cameron Michalak, Dominique Ojeil, Brandon Delgado, Tiwalade Ogunfadebo, Colby Niggebrugge, Cody Niggebrugge, Pedro Maia, Anthony Poehlmann, Shawn McCourt, and Henry Lidstrom all had big impacts on the program, helping to turn a 0-16-2 season in 2022 into reaching the conference tournament two consecutive years.
Goldey-Beacom entered the CACC Tournament having won four of its last six contests, which included a 6-4 victory over local-rival Wilmington (DE).
