10/30/2024 12:00:00 AM

Goldey-Beacom's women's basketball team has been picked to end fourth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference South Division based on a vote of the league's coaches.

A vital player back is junior Rory Ciszkowski (Wilmington, DE), a gifted scorer and competitor who last season was tabbed third team All-CACC.  After ending last season first in the league with a school-record 87 three-pointers and second with a .429 three-point percentage, Ciszkowski is sixth in school history with 152 three-pointers and just outside the top 20 with 659 career points.

Conducting the orchestra is junior Karlee Lemon (Williamsburg, VA), a solid point guard who last season was the only one for Goldey-Beacom to start in all 30 contests.  A great leader who is a solid teammate and competitor, Lemon last season finished 12th in the league with 77 assists and 13th with a .309 three-point percentage.

Another outstanding player who will be a key contributor is sophomore Katie Yoder (Dublin, PA).  A solid guard with great all-around skills on both ends of the court, Yoder last season closed first on the team with 13.5 points per game, seventh in the league with 81 free throws and 11th with a .736 free throw percentage.

Goldey-Beacom last season played in the CACC semifinals for the sixth time in program history and the first since 2019.  The Lightning entered that game having won six of their last seven contests.

Jefferson, ranked 12th in the country, was picked to win the South Division and Post was chosen to grab the North Division.

Goldey-Beacom begins its season November 8 against No. 9 Bentley.
