(boxscore)

In its final match before the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament, Goldey-Beacom made it six victories in its last eight contests with a 5-2 triumph over Post at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.

The Lightning opened things by taking the doubles point for a ninth time this season, getting this one in a sweep for a fourth time.  Junior Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkiye) and freshman Sofia Lopez (Bogota, Colombia) got a 6-1 win over Megan Lombart and Julie Merlin at No. 1 with senior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) and junior Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) recording a 6-0 triumph vs. Nina Langenfeld and Annelein Van Urk at No. 2.  Junior Jess Sanzo (Bristol, England) and senior Lucia Corte (Gijon, Spain) notched a 6-3 victory over Melanie Leussink and Gioia Turco at No. 3.

Lopez improved to 11-0 on the season in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Melanie Leussink, giving her 10 victories in straight sets.  Mova amassed a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at first singles over Lombardt, Quinonez recorded a 6-0, 6-2 win over Van Urk at No. 4 singles with Corte getting a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Romy Leussink at sixth singles.

The league office has confirmed Goldey-Beacom (8-3, 7-3 CACC) will be the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament based on any tiebreakers that could arise if Chestnut Hill (6-3) wins Thursday over Dominican (NY).  It is the Lightning's best league mark since going 8-1 in 2019-20, when they last played in the conference tournament and advanced to the final.

Goldey-Beacom on Saturday will face Chestnut Hill in the CACC semifinals, beginning at 1:00 pm at Delcastle.  The winner moves to Sunday's final with the champion earning an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
