Women’s Tennis Announces 2024 Spring Schedule

Goldey-Beacom looks to continue taking steps in the right direction against challenging foes as the team revealed its 2024 spring slate.
 
The squad opens at home March 18 against the District of Columbia before another match at Delcastle two days later vs. West Chester.  GBC on March 23 visits Slippery Rock before a home match April 4 against Millersville.
 
Goldey-Beacom on April 7 goes to Indiana (PA) before a road match on the 10th at The College of New Jersey and the 13th at Queens (NY).  The season finale is April 16 at Delcastle against Saint Thomas Aquinas.
 
A huge key to the fall season for the Lightning was sophomore Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador), who during her first league campaign was tabbed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year.  She notched a 6-5 singles record that included winning four of her first five matches at No. 4 singles and earning a promotion to third singles in October.
 
Junior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) also had an outstanding fall and her solid play at first singles and first doubles got her picked second team All-CACC.  She totaled five singles victories that included wins in four of her last seven matches and five doubles triumphs with sophomore Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey) that included wins in four of their first five matches.
 
Canbaz recorded four wins at No. 2 singles, ending the fall on a three-match winning streak.
