Women’s Tennis Falls, 6-1, at Jefferson

Goldey-Beacom went into a key Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at Jefferson and was dealt a 6-1 loss in Philadelphia.
 
Junior Lisa-Marie Roussignol (Quimper, France) has a bright future ahead of her and that continued to show with a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 triumph at No. 5 singles over Zenia Barretto.
 
Another bright spot for the Lightning (2-4, 1-4 CACC) continues to be sophomore Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey), who forced a third set against Noelle Frenzel at No. 2 singles in a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 loss.
 
Junior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) gave Nicole Hrbkova from the Rams (7-3, 3-1) a battle at first singles, but was handed a 7-5, 7-6 setback.
 
Goldey-Beacom next Tuesday starts the second part of its double round-robin league schedule.  This begins with a noon match at Post in Middlebury, CT.
