Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Mariah McQueen and Lexy Yeager Score in Women’s Soccer’s 2-2 Draw With Millersville

Sophomore Mariah McQueen (Baltimore, MD) scored late in the opening half and freshman Lexy Yeager (West Deptford NJ) tallied to give Goldey-Beacom the lead in a 2-2 tie versus Millersville at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field in Wilmington, DE.

The game saw both defenses have their way in the early going before the Marauders tallied in the 30th minute.  Taylor Whitmer put one in front that Isabel Coy got a boot on and scored for a 1-0 lead.

Goldey-Beacom leveled things in the 43rd minute.  Junior Sia Diakos (Frankford, DE) was in the box and got the ball to McQueen, who buried one inside the right post for her eighth career goal and a 1-1 tie.

The Lightning in the 54th minute grabbed their first lead of the match.  Junior Angela Lee (Warren, RI) booted a perfect long ball to Yeager, who put a great shot inside the left post for her first collegiate goal.

It was Lee's 13th career assist, putting her one outside of the College's top 10 list.

But Millersville leveled things in the 57th minute.  Maddie Zielke worked the ball to Aalivia Wainwright, who floated it home for the final.

Junior Nikki Cashin (Ridley, PA) made five saves and Yeager recorded two shots for GBC (0-0-2).  Isabel Coy notched six shots and Bella Fiorenza amassed two saves for Millersville (0-0-1).

Goldey-Beacom next Saturday returns to action at home against Molloy, starting at 1:00 pm.
