Goldey-Beacom faced a 7-0 loss against Wilmington (DE) in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.
 
Despite the loss, the Lightning showed strong play against one of the league's best, including a 6-4 doubles win from junior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) and sophomore Zehra Canbaz (Denizli, Turkey).
 
Canbaz continued her fight into her singles match, forcing a third set after 4-6, 6-3 in the first two sets at No. 2 singles. Junior Lisa Marie Roussignol (Quimper, France) also put pressure on her Wildcats opponent at No. 5 singles, forcing a third set after opening sets of 6-4, 3-6. Mova showed promise at No. 1 singles before falling 6-4, 6-1.
 
Goldey-Beacom host Chestnut Hill on Saturday in a 12:00 pm Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matchup at Delcastle Tennis Center.
