Goldey-Beacom played solidly in a matchup of two strong units from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, dropping a 5-2 decision to Post at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.

The Lightning (1-1, 0-1 CACC) dropped all three doubles matches, but the No. 2 team of junior Macy Hendin-Walker (Ipswick, England) and sophomore Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador) again produced outstanding play.  They battled throughout against Annunciata De-Souza and Natalia Gonzalez, but were dealt a 7-5 loss.

Quinonez bounced back in her singles match in a big way, rolling in the first set before gutting her way to a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles over Oceane Mallevre.

Sophomore Elina Mukhamadeeva (Kazan, Russia) also was impressive for Goldey-Beacom in singles.  She took control early against Julia D'Occhio at sixth singles and cruised to a 6-2, 6-4 triumph.

Unfortunately, the Eagles (2-1, 1-0) had their way in the other four singles matches.  The most impressive of this group was junior Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine), who produced a bagel to force a third set in a 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 loss at No. 1 singles against Micaela Rosignuolo.

Goldey-Beacom next Tuesday continues CACC play against Wilmington (DE), beginning at 2:00 pm at Delcastle Tennis Center.
