(2023 schedule)

Goldey-Beacom's Men's Soccer squad looks to get back to championship form as it embarks on a challenging 2023 schedule, which recently was announced.

GBC a season ago hosted Mercyhurst and Gannon to begin the season and the team makes the return trip this year in the same weekend.  The campaign begins September 1 at Mercyhurst, the defending Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference champion, and continues two days later at Gannon.

The home opener is September 6 against Staten Island, beginning a stretch of four contests over the next five games taking place at Nancy Churchman Sawin Field.  In that group of home games, Goldey-Beacom opens Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play September 20 against Georgian Court.

Three straight road games precede a return home October 7 against Felician.  This is part of the Homecoming and Lightning Family Weekend, which last year was rebranded.  The weekend's events include opportunities for alums to come back on campus to reunite with many friends and also see the many changes that many who continue to be part of the family help ignite.  It also will give an opportunity for parents to come on campus and spend time with their kids as part of an atmosphere filled with festivities and fun.

Goldey-Beacom on October 18 hosts Jefferson in a critical late-season game before three days later visiting reigning league champion Post.  GBC hosts Caldwell on October 28 before ending the regular season at home November 1 against Wilmington (DE).

The top eight teams compete in the CACC Tournament with the quarterfinals on November 6 and championship weekend taking place on the campus of the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT from November 10-12.

GBC welcomes back senior midfielder Eduardo Coimbra (Curitiba, Brazil), who looks to give the offense a major spark plug.  An energetic competitor and an exciting player to watch, Coimbra was picked second team All-CACC in 2019 and 2021.  He is tied for fifth in team history with 17 assists and seventh outright with 43 points.

The Lightning also get solid midfield play from junior Oliver Person (Ski, Norway), who a season ago made 13 starts and has played in 33 games over the last two seasons.

Junior midfielder Nick Perez (Wilmington, DE) returns and gives the team a strong mentality both on the offensive and defensive side.  An impressive player who any squad would want to build around, Perez has played in 33 games over the past two seasons with 29 starts.
