Three for Track & Field Earn CACC Weekly Awards

Goldey-Beacom saw an impressive week with freshman Kedar Reid (Bear, DE) named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Track Rookie of the Week, along with freshman Sebastien Lacroix (Hamilton, NJ) and sophomore Manny Carranza (Milford, DE) making the Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Reid claimed second place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.09 seconds at the Delaware Invitational, missing on first place by less than a second.  He also ran 26.10 seconds to place seventh in the 200-meter dash.
 
Reid opened the season with strong indoor outings after being part of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed first at the Princeton Indoor Invitational.  He also was fifth in the 200-meter dash in 24.27 seconds at the same meet.  In the outdoor season, Reid has seen six top-10 finishes.
 
Lacroix was a force at the Delaware Invitational, with four top-five finishes. He placed first in the discus at 36.55 meters, second in javelin at 29.73 meters, fourth in shot put at 10.89 meters and fourth in the hammer throw at 30.26 meters.
 
Lacroix has been a strong competitor from the start of the season, opening outdoors meets with third-place finishes in the shot put, discus throw and hammer throw at the WCU Purple & Gold Invitational.
 
Carranza secured first place in the long jump at the Delaware Invitational with a best jump of 6.35 meters, 0.86 meters further than second place.
 
Over his five meets this season, Carranza he has seen four top-10 finishes. This follows a strong freshman season, when he placed seventh and ninth in the long jump and triple jump, respectively, at the 2022 CACC Championship.
 
Goldey-Beacom on Saturday travels to Lakewood, NJ to compete in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship, with events beginning at 1:00 pm. The meet concludes Sunday, with events beginning at 10:00 am.
