(boxscore)

Goldey-Beacom tried to fend itself against one of the perennially top schools from the Atlantic Region, but was handed a 7-0 loss by Indiana (PA) at Delcastle Tennis Center in Wilmington, DE.

One of the bright spots for the Lightning was the play of freshman and spring newcomer Nahomi Quinonez (Manta, Ecuador).  She played great throughout her match that could have gone either way, but was dealt a 7-5, 6-4 setback by Laura Dunarova at No. 5 singles.

Freshman Alex Kepa (Nottingham, England) also performed admirably in her match, showing competitive fire over both sets in a 7-5, 6-3 loss to Idoia Huerta at sixth singles.

The match at No. 2 doubles also was an intense one, but Quinonez and sophomore Elizabeth Mova (Sevastopol, Ukraine) were handed a 6-4 loss by Huerta and Vlachou for the Crimson Hawks (6-8).

Goldey-Beacom (4-8) returns to action Monday, April 10 at Saint Thomas Aquinas, beginning at 3:00 pm in Sparkill, NY.
